Two Miniature Landscape Paintings

These mini landscapes make me think of the backgrounds of some of Pieter Bruegel The Elder’s non creepy scenes-specifically the hazy atmosphere, patches of light beige fields disappearing in the distance and the grayish blue sky.

Mist Enshrouded Mountain Gap

Some very soft atmospheric effects in this piece- it looks like maybe a ¬†bird’s eye view of one of the gaps in the Massanutten complex of mountains east of here in rainy, foggy weather- perhaps in late Winter or early March.
